At Edufront Learning Centre, we use a 3-pronged strategy to help students achieve success in Primary School Science.
They are:
1) Concept Mastery
2) Process Skills Mastery
3) Answering Technique Mastery

Importance of Process Skills
Success in Primary School Science means more than just acquiring and understanding the scientific concepts in the primary science curriculum. Another important dimension in learning science which cannot be easily acquired through memorising the guidebooks and completing countless assessment books is the ‘process’ of doing science. The processes of doing science are the science process skills that scientists use in the process of doing science. Since science is about asking questions and finding answers to questions, these are the same skills that we all use in our daily lives as we try to figure out everyday questions.
In the primary school science curriculum framework (MOE), students are expected to be reasonably proficient in these 14 areas of science skills and processes:
Skills
Observing
Comparing
Classifying
Using apparatus and equipment
Communicating
Inferring
Predicting
Analysing
Generating possibilities
Evaluating
Formulating hypothesis
Processes
Creative problem solving
Decision-making
Investigation
Only with the mastery of these process skills and the ability to apply these skills to the science concepts would students be able to do well in primary science. Our Primary Science programme is developed by our Programme Director (Primary Science) based on his experience teaching PSLE science and his research in the PSLE science curriculum. Students would be taught strategies on how to apply concepts and process skills to challenging problems in primary science and to answer open-ended questions in Section B with confidence and precision.
